Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC 2024 Enhanced Phishing Protection in Microsoft Defender SmartScreen helps protect Microsoft passwords against phishing and unsafe usage. Smart App Control adds significant protection from malware, including new and emerging threats. Credential Guard, Credential Guard Automatic account management, and Windows LAPS are security features that help prevent unauthorized access to secrets and manage local administrator accounts. Malicious and vulnerable driver blocking, security hardening and threat protection, and Personal Data Encryption (PDE) are also included.
LTSC 2024 provides a native experience for passkey management. The Windows passwordless experience is a security policy that promotes a user experience without passwords on Microsoft Entra joined devices. Web sign-in for Windows, federated sign-in, and Windows Hello for Business authentication improvement are also available. Customers can now use App Control for Business and its next-generation capabilities to protect their digital property from malicious code. With App Control for Business, IT teams can configure what runs in a business environment through Microsoft Intune or other MDMs in the admin console, including setting up Intune as a managed installer. Local Security Authority (LSA) protection enablement, Rust in the Windows kernel, and SHA-3 support are also included. Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) is a Windows feature that automatically manages and backs up the password of a local administrator account on your Microsoft Entra joined or Windows Server Active Directory-joined devices. Windows LAPS Automatic account management, Windows LAPS Policy improvements, and Windows LAPS Image rollback detection are also available.
Windows protected print mode (WPP) enables a modern print stack which is designed to work exclusively with Mopria certified printers. SMB signing is now required by default for all connections, and SMB now supports requiring encryption on all outbound SMB client connections. SMB signing and encryption auditing, SMB alternative client and server ports, SMB NTLM blocking exception list, SMB dialect management, SMB over QUIC client access control, and SMB firewall rule changes are also included. Delivery optimization helps reduce bandwidth consumption, and Windows Update notifications can be blocked during active hours or customized with an organization name.
